# Choose or change your hosting plan

Your workspace plan defines which services and resource amounts are available. A plan change applies to the workspace, so review the applications and other resources already using it before choosing.

## Before you start

- Select the workspace and make sure your role can manage its subscription. Open Workspace > Subscription. The current plan appears with the other plan cards and is marked Active. Prices and limits shown for your account are authoritative; examples in a guide are not a quote.

## Choose a plan for a new workspace

1. Choose a plan from the website.
2. If asked to sign in, complete sign-in first.
3. Choose to create a workspace when the purchase is for a new team or project. Use an existing workspace only when you intend to change its plan and have permission to do so.
4. Review the workspace name, selected plan, billing period, payer and payment total before completing checkout.
5. Return to the workspace and confirm its subscription status. A payment gateway success screen can appear before GD finishes confirming the payment.

## Compare plans for an existing workspace

1. Open Subscription and find the Active card.
2. Select Cloud Hosting or Managed Cloud Servers (VPS). This changes the products shown; it does not immediately move an application.
3. Choose Monthly or Yearly. If Yearly offers a duration selector, choose the number of years and read the total for that full term.
4. Compare resource limits and included features. A different hosting type is not automatically an upgrade: features and current usage also matter.
5. Select a candidate and read Your selection, including when it takes effect and the amount due.

## Upgrade now

1. Select a plan that offers the capacity you need.
2. Review the current-usage warnings. Increasing one limit does not guarantee every other limit increases.
3. Check the credit and tax breakdown, then follow the available checkout action.
4. Complete the payment and return to GD. If the payment is pending, wait for confirmation instead of starting a duplicate purchase.
5. Confirm the new plan is active and its limits are visible before depending on the extra capacity.

## Schedule a downgrade

1. Open the smaller downgrade link to show lower-capacity choices.
2. Read each highlighted conflict. For example, a plan allowing fewer applications than you currently have requires you to reduce usage before the change can complete.
3. Choose a suitable plan and check its effective date. A scheduled downgrade does not necessarily take effect immediately.
4. Resolve required reductions using the relevant resource pages. Back up data before removing a resource merely to meet a limit.
5. Return to Subscription and confirm the request's status. A remediation-required or blocked request still needs action.

## A request is already pending

Review the pending request first. It may be a renewal, upgrade or downgrade awaiting payment or another action. Pay, cancel or resolve it using the actions shown, then review the new selection again. Selecting a card does not cancel the older request. If the current selection is unwanted, use its deselection control before choosing another.

## Understand the summary

Unused term credit is credit for unused time in the current paid term when upgrading. It is not a refund for unused CPU, storage or traffic. Account credit is subscription credit applied to the new amount; it is separate from the wallet balance. Tax is calculated from the applicable billing details and purchase. The amount due is the final amount shown after the applicable credits and tax.

## If something does not work

- No plan-change action: check your workspace role and subscription permissions.

- A feature is highlighted: compare its proposed limit with actual usage; do not assume a higher price means every feature is included.

- Payment succeeded but status is pending: refresh after confirmation and inspect the same order. Do not pay again until its status is known.

- Subscription suspended: review renewal/payment requirements. New deployments can be restricted even while an old release still answers requests. Contact support if you believe the suspension is incorrect.

## Expected result

The intended workspace shows either the new active plan or a clearly identified scheduled change with its effective date and any remaining requirements.

Open the relevant page, then confirm the workspace or administrative context before making changes.
